Two day workshop
Pictoplasma Conference, Berlin
Inspired by a sneak preview of the Neighbourhood Community, attendees at the inaugural Pictoplasma Character Design Conference in Berlin descended on the workshop in droves.
Armed with scissors, cotton, materials, needles, safety pins, glue, pens, stuffing and sewing machines, they wasted no time reworking the blank stuffed shapes provided.
A rapidly formed Neighbourhood soon emerged from the mass of triangular, circular and rectangular blobs, merging with piles of loose arms and legs, discarded buttons and bizarre fabric offcuts.
The newborns evolved at an unprecedented rate - quickly whipped away by frenzied remixers to be reworked again and again.
The process, spurred on by the exchange of enthusiasm and energy in the room and uninhibited by distance, delivery and pressure, resulted in one hundred remixes in the space of only two days.
