3 action packed inches of role reversal – for
once, a musical project spawned from the seed
of a graphic idea, instead of the other way
around. Our visual remixers provided us with a
cheery 'hallo' and introduced themselves to the
RMX project; these sound files were then
mangled, manipulated, cut-up, and sequenced
into a collection of musical tracks that remix
the human voice into something alien and
rhythmic – but still oddly familiar.

Conspirators in this accumulation of surgeries
operated to the same principal: the ONLY
permissible sounds to use in the musical
procedure were those generated from the initial
voice samples. We gathered together the bloody
wrecks and compiled them by methods best
left unspoken.

The mini-CD included in the book RMX Extended
Play contains these compositions, as well as
samples for further remixing opportunities in
the D.I.Y. sample kit.
